Politicians 2016-63

I wrote this before at one of the past elections and it STILL applies. Politicians are necessary to run various governments, but they do have their issues. This year of 2016 has its own unimaginable events with Da Trump and Mrs. Clinton running for POTUS. I have refrained from commenting on this blog what I think but may share my thoughts in the future.

Politicians 2016-63

A politician, at times, is a crafty old soul,

So it was written or maybe I was told.

It seems he or she is elected for life.

With elections being little more than mile strife.

They have to spend money to stay in office,

And then spend OUR dollars in ways that are offensive.

They can also be bought by a P.A.C. member,

And feel free as a bird from Jan to December.

Why do we elect these Congressmen and Senators,

We must not mind being taken to the cleaners.

We deserve what we get, to good and the bad,

But really, when you think, it’s terribly sad.

With this nation so great, with so many problems,

We have to many poor leaders, many are robbers.

If I sound down, on our esteemed leadership,

Its due to the feeling we’re sinking like a ship.

So, if I can end this with a thought kept in mind,

Do what you can, but watch your behind…..

Rage of a Man 2016-55

This is about a real life event shown on TV about a man convicted of killing of his family after a too long period of time of abuse. The story came out as a member of the wife’s immediate family told of the man’s terrible actions during the lifetime of the woman he killed. He tried to use the insane plea, but it did not work and he was put away for the rest of his life. Not enough…..

Rage of a Man 2016-55

Amongst the stillness, a whimpering sound,

Over in the corner a child lay, almost still

Huddled with legs drawn up to chin

Sobbing, a bruised body racked with pain

Tear streaked eyes, mucous flowing from nose

No attempt to dry or wipe away

Livid red welts on buttocks and back

Testimonial to a savage, unexpected beating

A man, his father now gone away for a while

That earlier before strolled together through the zoo

One drop, then two, some more blood, finally stopped

A wound from the buckle on belt so wide and hard

Seven years old and not knowing why

His love still there, somehow, – but why?

A fit of rage, a scream of hate, the belt,

For dropping a cookie on the floor?

His mother, standing by powerless to act,

Flinching as each slash came down on her son

This man, her husband, the same one married with love

So long ago, a different time, less strife

No excuses, for actions so horrible to all

No reason, no justification for this trial; why?

Only sorrow, sadness and despair for now

As she stares in the telltale mirror

Looking at a face grown old by each passing day

A returned image of blackened eyes and cut lips

WHY – the most unanswered question at times

By those that so much need and deserve one

Thoughts of Today’s Life 2016-52

Thoughts of Today’s Life 2016-52

The world will survive even though the occupants may not. We are our worst enemies. We, as a whole, treat others like Aliens and not brothers and sisters in life. We have leaders that somehow got in or do get in, and control plus do things that are contrary to common sense and decency. Minions support them and benefit from the leaders handouts and they, in turn, give platitudes to the leaders to curry favor. Instead of working together for a common goal, individual objectives are sought instead of the “good for all”.

To think of others rather than selves is, at times, a negative thought process and frowned upon or considered too liberal. Who are conservatives and who are these liberals that make up the masses? What is WRONG with being either if we work together as a combined group for a common objective to make things better?  When did it really start to be “Them against us” or “Our way or no way” type attitudes that appear to be prevalent? Why is name calling, in a horrible way, an acceptable thing to hear from our leaders? When did compromise become an archaic way of life experience?

We, the people, deserve what we get because we allow these things to occur. We cannot blame “them” for the actions of today, but instead could fault ourselves for not doing the right things or doing nothing instead. We accept things because we are only one person of ourselves, instead of collectively doing or saying what has to be brought forth for all to know.

Our complacency allows incompetency to occur; then we look around for the culprit that is really the one looking back at us in the mirror. We want “George to do it” and he is damned tired and thinks we ALL should do the things that need to be done or said.

The anti-establishment crowd is looking for a savior to make changes that we must collectively work to have done and not expect a miracle from speakeasy type people or old school politicians that promise the same old, same old rhetoric.

Evil Personified 2016-44 PART 2

Evil Personified 2016-44 PART 2

I attended a discourse over a number of weeks that was published by the Lutheran social Service of Minnesota,  entitled “My Neighbor is Muslim”. I did not object to the content of the presentation, because it was factual and explained much about the Islam faith that was very correct. I do NOT have a problem with followers of Islam or the Islam faith. The only thing I did NOT comment on were my thoughts about radical extremist Muslims.

Part of my objections would have been about the radical Muslims that do terrible things in the world. The following is about them and some of the leaders of Islam that, I believe ARE part of the problem  worldwide. There ARE people, other than Muslims that are terrorists, but radical Muslims are in the news as being the main culprits of horror against people of the world including other Muslims.

I blame some of the leaders of the Islam faith in teaching the masses that Allah (God) wants them to do these dastardly acts in His name. I think of those religious leaders, and some that are not really religious, as the final end cause of terrorism. They are the ones that ferment dissent and discord that is the foundation of these acts by those they have misguided by their statements.

People like, for instance, the Ayatollah Khomeini in Iran who died in 1989, but continued by the current Ayatollah Khamenei, in control now. This man calls the U.S.A. and Israel, the Great Satanists. Another religious leader of Iran, such as Ayatollah Ahman Jannati (aged 89) recently said, “We are an anti-American regime. America is our enemy, and we are the enemies of America.” He and his group will be selecting the next Supreme Leader to replace Khamenei.

On 19 July 2015, while speaking at a mosque in Tehran, Khamenei said to his supporters that the policies of the United States in the region were “180 degrees” opposed to Iran’s political and religious movement. The speech was punctuated by chants of “Death to America” and “Death to Israel”. Khamenei said in regards to the 2015 nuclear deal that “Even after this deal our policy towards the arrogant U.S. will not change.”[ John Kerry said that if the comments reflected policy, it was “very disturbing”, and “very troubling”. DUH! KERRY!!!!!!

Khamenei has frequently stated that Israel should be destroyed. He warned in September 2015 that Israel will not exist as a country in 25 years. “I’m saying [to Israel] that they won’t live to see the end of these 25 years,” he said. “With Allah’s help, there will be no such thing as a Zionist regime in 25 years. Again, using the word God (Allah) in his verbiage of hate. Bull crap!!!!! Where does this religious leader think he has the right to say what God will do and why does he think God will help him?????

I don’t look at it as disturbing; I see it as downright scary and horrible. This leader is at the top of leadership of the Islamist faith in Iran. He now has a clear field to make nuclear weapons in a time table that is long range, but is on a definite track for Iran to become a nuclear power. Scary is not the word!

AND, we as the United States made a treaty with Iran, releasing held monies, giving foreign countries the OK to deal with this despot regime, and allowing this time table for them to still research and make a nuclear device. What was the President thinking???? Can the poor excuses in the U.S. Congress retract this treaty? Should I vote for Da TRUMP who said he would tear the treaty up?

The treaty by President Obama and Sec. of State Kerry was NOT ratified by Congress, but agreed to by both countries regardless. Time will tell if we will be sorry that this action was undertaken. To make it the Obama legacy, might be a horrible legacy to look at in the past, sometime in the future.

Evil personified by religious people, led by horrible leaders, are a sad, sad, sad state of affairs for the world and a blemish on the Islam faith………………  There are reformist Muslims that would be able to make changes of the mindset of how extremist radical Muslims think or at least how others perceive the Islam faith. They are in the minority and their voices are muted by those that do not want any changes made…….

Evil Personified 2016-44 PART 1

Evil Personified 2016-44     PART 1

The other day (about 5-18 or 19th) another plane somehow dropped out of the sky, this time an Egyptian plan that came down in the Mediterranean Sea. It MAY have exploded, they say, but time will tell as to the why it came down.

Let’s say it was an act of terrorism as it has happened before.   I again, ask WHY!

Why does this occur if it is so? What purpose, other than just plain terror, do those that do these acts have for killing so many innocent people? What reason can they intelligently (?) give for doing such a horrendous terrible, ungodly act?

Most terrorism today, is done by extremist people of the Islam faith or so it seems. Not all, but most acts of horror appear to be people using religious type reasoning, or so it seems.

I would rather say that is bull crap. I have read about the words being yelled or stated, “Allahu Akbar”, the Islamic phrase in Arabic meaning “God is the greatest”. Now, I understand that Allahu is the nominative of Allah, meaning “God” and in Islam it is the proper name of God in Arabic. It is usually a battle cry in Islamist extremism or terrorism. It is NEVER mentioned in the Islamic Quran, but it is also used in times of joy, at births, deaths, and in prayers. So, it is known in many usages by Muslim people for various reasons.

After the September 11 attacks in 2001, the FBI released a letter reportedly handwritten by the cowardly hijackers and found in three separate locations on the day of the attacks—at Dulles International Airport, at the Pennsylvania crash site, and in hijacker Mohamed Atta‘s suitcase. It included a checklist of final reminders for the 9/11 hijackers. An excerpt reads: “When the confrontation begins, strike like champions who do not want to go back to this world. Shout, ‘Allahu Akbar,’ because this strikes fear in the hearts of the non-believers.” , To me it strikes disgust and revulsion. Also, in the cockpit voice recorders found at the crash site of Flight 93, the hijackers are heard reciting the Takbīr, or Arabic phrase Allahu Akbar, repeatedly as the plane plummets toward the ground and the passengers attempt to retake control of the plane. I just visited the Flight 93 Memorial in May of 2016 and looked at the planes normal occupants as PURE HEROES….

This battle cry by Jihadist cowards is a corruption of using the name of God (Allah) in the actions of evil. It has NO business, in my mind, in conjunction with perpetrating an unholy act of killing innocent people or any people at all. It is a common saying, but it MEANS NOTHING in relationship to God in this context; PERIOD!!!!!!

God, or whatever word is used to call Him, is the ONLY God of the Universe. He, God, does NOT want His name used as it is done so by Islamist terrorists. Where the common Islamic Arabic expression, used in various contexts by Muslims; in formal prayer, in the call for prayer as an informal expression of faith, in times of distress, or to express resolute determination became so common for use by terrorists is unknown. I say unknown, but it WAS reported to have been used by Muhammad  after a funeral, so it does go back to the founder of Islam.

I have read that the terrorists do use Islam and Allah (or God) as reasoning for their actions. This is another bull crap saying by those that are cowards. They may need justification for their actions and using God as reasoning is their way of rationalization.

Right – Wrong 2016-43

Listening to TV, or reading about the constant horrors of man with the daily turmoil of humans doing horrible things to humans is sickening at times. Asking WHY? does not help, for the answer will not be soon in coming. What is the answer or is there only one answer for peace to arrive for mankind?

Right – Wrong 2016-43

Who is wrong in this world  –  who is right?

Is it the Jew, the Gentile, the Black or White

Could it be the Muslim, the Hindu or maybe Shitte,

The Redman, the Yellow or it, the one with might?

We all have our differences, but do we have to fight,

With the energy spent to argue it’s all gone for spite.

Isn’t there someone with wisdom like a guiding light,

To lead us to peace from the morn to the night?

Or are we afraid that He may come — wouldn’t that be a sight?

With the predictions of 1000 years of peace without fight.

Would we miss the forever horrors of daily blight

But in reality —-that would be a delight……………

In the meantime, we go on with our lives and

Continue to do what we do – Nothing

If God Is Dead… 2016-37

I copied this from the Internet and am posting it today, 4-27-16. I liken this post to be like the canary in the coal mine, a means of knowing how things may or may not be. This is from, of all people, Pat Buchanan, who I thought was dead, but is very much alive. What he states is “possible” of the way religion is today and Christianity in particular. If so, we as a civilization should listen to the canary and see if it is still alive or dying and perhaps do something about it.

We, all of us, can look around and see how things are going. Look at our family, our friends, neighbors and fellow citizens and how we have strayed from belief in God to believing God is dead and why bother to practice any faith based on an unknown deity or a 2000 year old story of one man, so very long ago. Why bother; enjoy life for today and the hell with tomorrow. On the other hand, also look at our existence of what we do and do not do and contemplate our survival as a species without God..

I welcome you to critique Buchanan’s article and let it be known where he is not correct in his thinking. He is not offering solutions, I admit, but trying to show a trend and causes.

If God Is Dead…   2016-37

Michelangelo’s “The Creation of Adam.”

In a recent column Dennis Prager made an acute observation.

“The vast majority of leading conservative writers … have a secular outlook on life. … They are unaware of the disaster that godlessness in the West has led to.”

These secular conservatives may think that “America can survive the death of God and religion,” writes Prager, but they are wrong.

And, indeed, the last half-century seems to bear him out.

A people’s religion, their faith, creates their culture, and their culture creates their civilization. And when faith dies, the culture dies, the civilization dies, and the people begin to die.

Is this not the recent history of the West?

Today, no great Western nation has a birthrate that will prevent the extinction of its native-born. By century’s end, other peoples and other cultures will have largely repopulated the Old Continent.

European Man seems destined to end like the 10 lost tribes of Israel — overrun, assimilated and disappeared.

And while the European peoples — Russians, Germans, Brits, Balts — shrink in number, the U.N. estimates that the population of Africa will double in 34 years to well over 2 billion people.

What happened to the West?

As G. K. Chesterton wrote, when men cease to believe in God, they do not then believe in nothing, they believe in anything.

As European elites ceased to believe in Christianity, they began to convert to ideologies, to what Dr. Russell Kirk called “secular religions.”

For a time, these secular religions — Marxism-Leninism, fascism, Nazism — captured the hearts and minds of millions. But almost all were among the gods that failed in the 20th century.

Now Western Man embraces the newer religions: egalitarianism (is a trend of thought that favors equality for all people) , democratism (a project to make the priorities of the people the priorities of society, through a new political process), capitalism, feminism, One Worldism, environmentalism. (my bold print)

These, too, give meaning to the lives of millions, but these, too, are inadequate substitutes for the faith that created the West.

For they lack what Christianity gave man — a cause not only to live for, and die for, but a moral code to live by, with the promise that, at the end a life so lived, would come eternal life. Islam, too, holds out that promise.

Secularism, however, has nothing on offer to match that hope.

Looking back over the centuries, we see what faith has meant.

When, after the fall of the Roman Empire, the West embraced Christianity as a faith superior to all others, as its founder was the Son of God, the West went on to create modern civilization, and then went out and conquered most of the known world.

The truths America has taught the world, of an inherent human dignity and worth, and inviolable human rights, are traceable to a Christianity that teaches that every person is a child of God.

Today, however, with Christianity virtually dead in Europe and slowly dying in America, Western culture grows debased and decadent, and Western civilization is in visible decline.

Rudyard Kipling prophesied all this in “Recessional”:

“Far-called our navies melt away; On dune and headland sinks the fire: Lo, all our pomp of yesterday/Is one with Nineveh and Tyre!”

All the Western empires are gone, and the children of once-subject peoples cross the Mediterranean to repopulate the mother countries, whose native-born have begun to age, shrink and die.

Since 1975, only two European nations, Muslim Albania and Iceland have maintained a birthrate sufficient to keep their peoples alive.

Given the shrinking populations inside Europe and the waves of immigrants rolling in from Africa and the Middle and Near East, an Islamic Europe seems to be in the cards before the end of the century.

Vladimir Putin, who witnessed the death of Marxism-Leninism up close, appears to understand the crucially of Christianity to Mother Russia, and seeks to revive the Orthodox Church and write its moral code back into Russian law.

And what of America, “God’s country”?

With Christianity excommunicated from her schools and public life for two generations, and Old and New Testament teachings rejected as a basis of law, we have witnessed a startlingly steep social decline.

Since the 1960s, America has set new records for abortions, violent crimes, incarcerations, drug consumption. While HIV/AIDS did not appear until the 1980s, hundreds of thousands have perished from it, and millions now suffer from it and related diseases.(Numbers are not shown – my insert)

Forty percent of U.S. births are out of wedlock. For Hispanics, the illegitimacy rate is over 50 percent; for African-Americans, it’s over 70 percent. (This is reported by CNS News, a conservative American News website founded by L. Brent Bozell in 1998 –my insert)

Test scores of U.S. high school students fall annually and approach parity with Third World countries.

Suicide is a rising cause of death for middle-aged whites. (teen suicides are too ? my insert)

Secularism seems to have no answer to the question, “Why not?”

“How small, of all that human hearts endure, That part which laws or kings can cause or cure,” wrote Samuel Johnson.

Secular conservatives may have remedies for some of America’s maladies. But, as Johnson observed, no secular politics can cure the sickness of the soul of the West — a lost faith that appears irretrievable.

In the Shadow of the Cross 2016-27

In the Shadow of the Cross  2016-27

The following post is about the time of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion. It is after Jesus was tried by Pontius Pilate, scourged, and taken to Golgotha, the “Place of the Skull, and put on the cross.  It is from the mindset of the man Barabbas who was set free from being crucified, when his name was offered in place of Jesus.

From the mind of Barabbas:

I was freed! I fully expected to be hanging on the cross along with these other men that I am looking at. I was freed and did not expect this to happen! I stand now in the shadow of the cross and know where I ought to  be.

It is a fact that I should be up there and fully expected it; up until yesterday. When I heard that this man Jesus was to take my place and I was going to be set free, I could not believe it. I was let go with the warning that I would be soon hanging from a tree if I did not get out of Jerusalem   right away.

I, being myself, decided that this would not be the case. But, I just had to know more about the man that took my place.  I hacked my beard off, which changed my appearance greatly. I also stole some clothes from a yard on the outskirts of the city and I look much different. Just maybe, the Roman guards would not recognize me as I now appear..

The Passover was still going on and I blended in with the multitude of people reveling in the city. There were gatherings of people everywhere and I took advantage of them by selecting choice food to eat when they were not looking. I am a thief and know how to do these things well.

I am also a rebel and do not like the occupation of the Romans and their rules of governing. I cannot remember when I was not causing trouble with them and those that put up with their dictates of life. I hate them. I and others like me, are called zealots, and our goal is to eradicate them from our life in any way we can do so.

I was caught by a group of Roman Centurions after one of our group told them of our plans and we fell into a pitched battle with 3 or 4 of them. I killed the man responsible for telling them, and that is why I was sentenced to death by crucifixion. The fact that I was a rebel was enough for a death sentence anyhow.

So, I am now watching this man Jesus slowly die on the cross meant for me. As far as I could find out, He did nothing wrong that deserved his being put to death by crucifixion. He claims to be the Son of God and the religious leaders do not like his saying this, as it is blasphemy in their eyes.

I personally am not that religious and do not follow the Hebrew ways very much. I tell others I am a Jew, but in name only. Many of my group of zealots fill the same way, but we do ALL hate the Romans. In fact, as proclaimed zealots, we feel the Hebrew way is the ONLY way, and that makes us somewhat seem like hypocrites, but that is too bad.

One of the other Jews hanging with this man Jesus does not look good at all and I doubt if he will last very long. The other man yelled out to the man Jesus, ”Aren’t you the Christ? Save yourself and us!”. But the other dying criminal rebuked him, saying   to him, “Don’t you fear God, he said, since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.” He continued, saying “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Then I heard Jesus tell this thief, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.”

I heard all this and trembled. Who, really; is this man who took my place and is dying on this cross? Who is he, to promise this other thief on the cross that he will be with Him in paradise?  This man Jesus has a sign above him on the cross that states, “Here is the King of the Jews”. If this is so, why then, did the High Priests plot to kill him? Why did they feel they had to put this man to death in such a horrible way?

There was talk in the dungeon, that a man named Jesus was upsetting tables in the courtyard where the money changers plied their trade at the Temple. They, the money changers, are the thieves if you ask me. Yes, word filtered down to us, but we made no stock to these sayings. We were waiting for our deaths by the hands of the Centurions, and it mattered not to us, who or what this man Jesus claimed or did.

Now I wonder!  If this man Jesus did what he did and the High Priests were so concerned, did the claims have any validity? I then ponder why am I alive? I am a nobody! I have no family, few good friends, and live off the land and steal from anyone I can. I do not have an allegiance to anyone, let alone the Romans or even to those of the Temple where the High Priests reign. Yet, I am alive.

I look up at the face of this man Jesus and can see the pain of the crucifixion in his eyes. He is suffering. He thirsts. This man is dying for me. I feel for him, but dare not say anything. I am a coward in my eyes and feel so very sad. I did not get what I deserved and this man Jesus did NOTHING wrong and is dying for me.  This man, Jesus, is dying for my sins. I have sinned, I still sin and he is dying for me; for me!!! What can I do for Him? What will I become? Can I eventually die and join Him in paradise for eternal life? How do I live my life now?

Den Betts

NOTE:

Now that I wrote the above I wonder, how many of us would leave “the shadow of the cross” and enter into a way of “carrying the cross” for Jesus Christ our savior. Easy to think about and yet, sometimes hard to do.  We are busy with our lives and that is a fact.

We have priorities of living here on Earth, and to include “living for Jesus Christ”, is on the back burner of life of appreciating God in the essence of Jesus. This is just a fact, no more and I point NO fingers at anyone, just myself. You, and only you, can answer this question of how much you want to include our Savior into your life.

Brussels attack 2016-26

Brussels attack 2016-26

The Brussels attack by ISIS or any other Muslim terrorist group is horrible, for sure. People died that were innocent in life and those that did this act are criminals of mankind. When they yell out or think “Allah is Great“ I would agree, “God is Great” but they are not doing anything God is proud of or agrees with their doing.

The biggest problem in fighting the terrorists that proclaim their faith is the “ONLY ONE” is not in the soldier doing the act, but the leadership of the Muslim faith that preaches false or archaic teachings of Mohammad. They are the supreme guilty ones, the handlers behind the scenes, the ones that do not get their hands dirty, but dirty the minds of those that do the evil acts.

This goes from the Iman in a Mosque, to the supreme top Shia mujtahid, the Grand Aayatollah in Iran, as an example.  These religious leaders teach discord and create the feeling that permeates in the world today of hatred, and despair. They have the responsibility for the horrors of the terrorists that they applaud and encourage.

I do NOT know how to address this problem. I still think though, that the Muslims, themselves, have to police their own religious people and that is a HARD thing to do. The reformers of the Muslim religious are in the minority and do not have a say in the daily life, with places like Iran for instance. The hardliners are in control and do NOT want to relinquish any power to people with rational thoughts. Too bad!!!

I pray for those in Belgium, like I did for the people in Paris who have to life with the constant threat of humans that are horrible animals of society, such as those that belong to ISIS. It goes beyond Islam and is a cultural thing in many cases. Nuff for now……………

Convoluted Thoughts 2016-19

Convoluted Thoughts 2016-19

The truth distorts a telling of a lie

And a lie twists the truth in the telling

Plus, a falsehood deceives the reader from the truth

Leaving all to decide on what to believe or not.

 WHAT IS TRUTH?!

I came up with this thought the other day after reading a statement someone made about my favorite politician Donny. The facts were not included in the story about him and I did research what was said.  It, the declaration, made Donny something he was not, which is not unusual.

Anyhow, what is said in the news, other media, or on Facebook which goes against Donny or is for Donny makes all of us confused at times. This also goes for discussing each political party whereas one side is, of course, one sided and makes a plus or negative into whatever their aim is in the story. This is not fair to anyone and just perpetuates a false feeling, plus or minus, depending on who or what is the subject.

I guess I should not be surprised. I remember a few years ago where someone state, “I don’t check my postings for fact, I just post them.” In other words, that person did not care if it was true or not, an untrue point was being made. All other statements were then questioned as being factual or not, which made any or all suspect. Sad!!!!

I see this so much now, I doubt the authenticity of much that is put out in favor or disfavor of a politician.

WHAT IS TRUTH?
