Breath of God 2016-69

The Breath of God  2016-69

God breathed on me and touched me in the process. I don’t think this was/is a normal everyday occurrence and is NOT an easy thing to contemplate.

Actually,  it was a somewhat scary thing to occur, which I called “The Happening” at the time. I since then thought “Why doesn’t He do this more often and to more people? I would guess He does, but it goes unnoticed by us mortals, at the time, or ignored.

What was days, weeks, months and a year, is now years ago, when this happened. I am still wondering “why me?” Why in the world me? Was it to give me an affirmation of belief in God? I have to say “Of course.”  Was it a gift? Without a doubt!

There were no directions or any explanations that came with this “touch” and I realize I am on my own to find out why, at this time, as I was when it happened.

Was I changed? Absolutely!!!!! Did I change others in some way? Don’t know!!!!

Have I accepted all this?  I think so, but still have questions, but am dealing with them…

It makes me believe that GOD   is   Alive, He    is  Active in our lives,  He  is   Aware, and His  Presence  is with us always……

I feel I am ONE of the most fortunate people alive and feel so, so, so blessed.

Thanks be to God.

Silent Song 2016-66

My life has changed, no longer what it was, but now is… What occurred in the past is gone, only to be remembered. Episodes of life to be thought of with joy and some with negative connotations.  I am still me, but in a different way. This is not uncommon, but the realization of Self as it is, is unique to me, and very interesting.  I wrote the below, to express the rambling internal thinking of my life, not to be understood by others, but to reinforce my own understanding of my existence………………

                                               Silent Song 2016-66

                                    Mindless melodies contorted with rhyme,

Playing parodies in the present time

Lingering lyrics float in the air,

Stating sentences of a care, a dare

                                    Fractural fibers leap in sine

Creating chaos in the mind of mine

                                    Wandering wisps of static substance

                                    Forever lost, but not forgotten

Statement of an Activist 2016-65

Statement of an Activist  2016-65

To become or NOT to become one

THAT is the question!

For every action

There is a reaction

THAT is a fact!

To forget is hard

To remember is even harder.

And, at times, to become one

Is NOT a choice, but a life mandate

To give in and accept the person I detest, as the leader, MY leader, of this great nation is a difficult thing to do and still remain a decent citizen and follow the laws of this United States in the process, IS, and I repeat, IS a daunting task…..  To be quiet, not stir up discord or remain docile is not my nature, BUT I realize there are consequences if action is taken that is contrary to the norm….

I feel that to get involved is a MUST, a duty, a requirement, as a concerned citizen. No longer can I remain a member of this great United States as an onlooker only, a follower of the masses and do NOTHING, a creature of apathy, again, a do-nothing person, and just exist as a complainer only.

I therefore commit to action. Action of something more than nothing. I will NOT accept this so called leader to get by with immoral, decadent, illegal, or any other action that goes against the Constitution of the U.S.A., without voicing my displeasure.

He has NOT become a better person just because he is elected POTUS! Just like a leopard cannot change its “spots” or a zebra its “stripes” he is not mysteriously a “nice” person, full of wisdom and great things, all of a sudden… He is still has ALL the baggage he had before being elected.

Worse yet, he is appointing people that have the same thought patterns as he has, therefore, making the rest of the leadership in the White House having the same horrible mentality. We cannot change what has occurred with the election, but we can hold him and those that he appoints accountable.  We must NOT accept those things that are WRONG, that affect us or others in a negative way; we must NOT.

Therefore, I will become an activist and, as such, my life will change, and I will hopefully change the lives of others in the process….   Time will tell, on the results of my efforts…..

Above all, I will use the teachings of the biggest rabble rouser of all times, the one man who changed the world for all times, the one that I will use as a guide for my endeavors in the future and who will show me the way –Jesus Christ, the son of God…….   Amen

Politicians 2016-63

I wrote this before at one of the past elections and it STILL applies. Politicians are necessary to run various governments, but they do have their issues. This year of 2016 has its own unimaginable events with Da Trump and Mrs. Clinton running for POTUS. I have refrained from commenting on this blog what I think but may share my thoughts in the future.

Politicians 2016-63

A politician, at times, is a crafty old soul,

So it was written or maybe I was told.

It seems he or she is elected for life.

With elections being little more than mile strife.

They have to spend money to stay in office,

And then spend OUR dollars in ways that are offensive.

They can also be bought by a P.A.C. member,

And feel free as a bird from Jan to December.

Why do we elect these Congressmen and Senators,

We must not mind being taken to the cleaners.

We deserve what we get, to good and the bad,

But really, when you think, it’s terribly sad.

With this nation so great, with so many problems,

We have to many poor leaders, many are robbers.

If I sound down, on our esteemed leadership,

Its due to the feeling we’re sinking like a ship.

So, if I can end this with a thought kept in mind,

Do what you can, but watch your behind…..

Life’s Worth 2016-62

I still have the “Wall that Heals” in my mind, that I saw in Burton, OH last week. So many names on it of men and woman that died in Vietnam. We, the people, allow our elected leaders to put our children in harm’s way at times, many conflicts that should NOT have happened then and in the future.

Life’s Worth 2016-62

How foolish are the forms of life

that share the planet Earth

What sane logical reason

is in place for all the wars and strife

Who can give a decent reason

for all the dying and anguish

Why the need for battle cry’s

for the young warriors and innocents to die

Where are the ones to say ENOUGH

for the masses that have it rough

When will the bell stop tolling

for the life on the ship called Earth

How can the world’s most intelligent

creatures, give life so little worth?

Den Betts

Is there a reason for war? Some say yes and others no, but it is the people that cause war by letting their leaders dictate the horrors, trials and tribulations to occur. We are the reason, the people of Earth that people like the mad man in N. Korea, Putin in Russia, and hopefully NOT, the idiot here in American that does not think America is already great.

D. C. Wall 2016-61

The local Geauga County Fairgrounds in Burton, OH, had a large but mini version of “the Wall” that is in D.C. and Joann and I went to look at it. All the names shown are those that died in the Vietnam War and it was “Sobering” to stand there and realize all those that gave their lives in the conflict. I think now of my thoughts then and what I believed then versus now.

I was just out of the Marine Corps before it started and my youth innocence was in play, though I did not have ANY adverse thoughts of those fighting. We, as the people, have to stand up and state our thoughts when things occur. Do NOT remain silent and say you are a member of the the silent majority. Instead, make a stand whatever it is!

                                  D.C. Wall 2016-61

Lowered head with hand on brow,

Salt flowing to the ground.

The ebony edifice spears the sky,

Subdued thoughts abound.

Tragedy of life remembered,

While standing with heavy heart.

A list showing no return,

Of those gone long ago.

Laughter, gaiety and flair,

Replaced by a scroll of stone.

Sorry for Self 2016-60

I found this one in my archives and thought it would be appropriate for now, not that I need to hear it, but just because. Actually I am over any bad feelings that came up lately, but had to read it and now publicize it. We, or many of us, have periods of depression that we live through, and being sorry for self is probably normal for most.

Sorry for Self 2016-60

To wail and bemoan, beat my chest

and cry the tears that flow

like rain upon the ground below.

To tell the world how sorry I am

for self and how sad the days are

from sunup to nights darkness gloom.

To look for sympathy from others

when things are so very bad;

just to help me through the day.

To admit to all that I’m not so strong

when faced with pressures beyond the

norm, the different, the standard.

To want to bare the soul, the mind,

for any to see, how vulnerable I am

as far as self, the person of    I.

Wealth of Self 2016-59

What is richness? What is important to a person who has everything or to those that have nothing? What does it take to realize that it is not the gold coin that makes the person rich, but instead a relationship with a loving family or mate or friend that makes one know what is important…………..

Wealth of Self 2016-59

It cannot be measured with

a stack of gold coins,

property, or ledger numbers

Knowledge in the mind from

life’s experiences and learning

is an intangible fortune

A solid family unit with love

and caring is worth more than

any dollar amount fixed by man

The health of an individual cannot

be purchased for the value it has

for the ease of living

Being one with nature with its

beauty and bountiful joys is free art

and majesty to be enjoyed by all

Consider, the millionaire contemplating

his life, while confined in an empty house

unloved by all, having untreatable ills

He, being half blind, living with confused

thoughts; while a man with a loving

family in robust health

Surrounded by friends, having an average typical

job, one with nature, considers himself

the richest man on earth.

Without a Home 2016- 58

I came up with this after watching a story on TV about a former homeless man that struggles to hand out clothing, food and bedding to the homeless ones living where he used to exist. He somehow got a job, had a place to live and now was paying back to the many that he knew when he was on the skids. People like him are one of the many heroes that are out there that do things without any wants of recognition.

Without a Home 2016- 58

Not really wanted by a society of today.

Not cared for – in any respectful or loving way

Forgotten at times, by kin of yesteryear,

Out of touch with all that held them close and near.

Dirty, hungry, cold and such,

Not asking for very much.

But, helped by those, that help those

that need it here and now,

Never enough to go around

but always looking for how.

An unseen populace that’s really

there in many of the street

Ignored by the upper class

so proper, clean and neat.

They hope someone will do something

very good and sweet,

To keep these unsightly ones

away from their eyes and feet.

The homeless, a fact of life,

not creatures to forget.

People, humans, ones once loved,

now part of the nation’s debt
