Spring 2018-30

Oh, how I look forward to Spring!  A change in temps, seeing things in a different light, a promise of newness of living, so many things to experience anew.  Cold gone, and white changed to green.  Winter has it’s positives (somewhere I guess), but Spring is eternal as far as I am concerned……

Spring  2018-30

A rebirth of the dormant world

With its rekindling of growth

Smells once forgotten, now back.

Creatures gone before, now returned.

Puffy and white now replacing

Grey and foreboding, welcomed

Amidst the gentle rains feeding

Plants awakened, stretching upward.

Lively steps in tired old men

Walking up the street with a bounce.

Children playing in puddles and mud

Grins, with sparkles in the eye.

Spring, a time of joy, a time of

Hope, a period of the rebirth

Once again of the world, the

Promise of continued life unfolds.

Great to be Alive 2015-17

Great to be Alive      2015-17

Sometimes it is perhaps best to just appreciate life as you live it and go on from there. Too many times we, or I, do not do so, but instead get wrapped up in everyday things that take up our time, but do not contribute to a peaceful and meaningful one. So, leave you with this poem that I wrote awhile back and hopefully you will see what I mean.

To see a rainbow cross the sky

on a slow sultry day

And smell the newly cut grass,

or golden mown hay,

Love to feel the wind

blow across my face,

and trace with my fingertips

the edge of pretty lace,

To hear far off distant sounds

of a whistling rumbling train,

and listen to the pitter patter,

of a soft spring rain.

To taste a sparkling fizzy Coke,

on a warm summer’s night

or the malty flavor, at times,

of a cool Bud Light.

But most of all, the joy of life

is of letting my mind roam,

And being able to write

a simple little poem……….

Recycled Life Blood 2015-02

It was relaxing, sitting on the porch, at the farm house, watching nature happen in the form of a soft summer rain. How enjoyable it was to see the clouds wander by, going someplace and knowing that the rain was nourishing the ground below.

Recycled Life Blood   2015-02

The sun burns off the fog

as the Earth bakes dry

in the morning

Lakes rise into the sky

becoming an entity with

a silver lining

Heaven weeps to those below

as the recycling of life’s

blood continues and goes
