The Cost of a Laugh and Smile 2018-67

The Cost of a Laugh and Smile   2018-67

Beware, be warned!  You could pay a price for that smile or moment of laughter you make!!!

For you to expose your inner most feeling of joy at something, to someone, you may make yourself vulnerable to many things you do not want or expect. No longer looked at as a person having no interest, no light side, and having a dull existence.

Instead, seen as a normal humanoid, with emotions, allowing a laugh to escape the confines of the brain, released by the gatekeeper mind, that controls what passes from the lips of the body.

Muscles of the face now contracted into a grimace of pleasure and not despair. The voice box making a sound, not of speech, but of an unnatural, for you, guttural noise.

I dare say, BUT, at what cost?

To be considered now, as one with joy, one with a light heart and not a heavy one? To be seen like a Shakespearian actor, stating “if you tickle me do I not laugh”, knowing also, that if they prick you, do you not bleed?

A different you now, that cannot be taken back, never to be seen as the old Self – Now the New!!

No longer reserved with introspective thoughts. Now exposed for those to see, the REAL you.

Pay the Price!  Do NOT be bashful, let it all hang out! Let those that look, actually see, really hear what and how you are now.

Don’t hide behind dignity, skirting reality!! Be your REAL Self –  enjoy and be thankful, —–for the cost of living – ACTUALLY living —–is a Life of Joy.

Expressions of Love 2017-25

I was looking for a post to make and came up with this poem I wrote a while ago and thought it would be great. Too much, I write about things that are, at times, negative in nature and this one will suffice to make up for some of them.  Love is a word, but it means so very much to many people and it sure beats hate and discord.

Expressions of Love  2017-25

The absolutes of love are real,

It various as the species abound,

Expressions of feelings take many forms,

As one, the other, or both reflect.

The frolicking young with heart so full,

And the ageless, speaking with unspoken words.

How grand, how majestic – the feeling of love,

A thing to share, without restraint of time.

A gesture here, a look across a room,

A smile, a whisper in the ear.

Sparkles or twinkling in the eye,

As a lover looks at the other.

A rose, a card, or nothing more,

Than a touch of a hand on a cheek.

Love, a word so often used,

But expressed in so many ways.

TIME HEALS 2015-35

TIME HEALS    2015-35

I offer this writing for those that need help in coping or know someone who does need guidance! I wrote this after I had such a time of need and it helped me. This poem was published in a number of magazines over the years and I have given it to people that really needed the advice. It is somewhat generic for many instances of life and maybe we could all take its sayings to heart. This is probably one of my better endeavors of writing that has helped many people in the past and I like this one more than most.

TIME HEALS    2015-35

T    –    Time is not forever,

Hold on for a while longer my friend.

I    –     It could have been worse,

Concentrate on what you have, not what happened.

M   –   My God is near when needed,

He is there regardless, you have only to ask.

E    –               Enjoy life when you can,

Every moment of happiness is to be cherished.

*          *          *

H   –    Have a rest when needed,

Take it easy, slow down, sleep if you have to.

E    –   Everyone seems to care,

You have so many friends, all praying for you.

A    –   A cry is OK,

An outburst of emotion is good for you.

L    –    Learn to cope,

There are so many ways of doing things, try them.

S    –    Smile !!

The best advice you should take.
