Wind Spirit 2019-014

When something happens, at times we might just accept and not question. So many things have occurred in my life, that make me think, wow!!!! Not to give thought, but just to know, we are NOT alone, His Presence is always there.

 

Wind Spirit     2019-014

 

A spirit in the wind

caresses my cheek softly,

Then whispers in my ear

Shivers travel up my spine

Then down my arms: I close up.

 

My eyes travel up – then over,

narrowing, trying to ascertain

the feeling, wanting reality.

Primeval fears escape once more,

the unknown factors of life have

arrived; I quake then swallow

 

What is this: something there

near me, surrounding me, touching?

My mind rebels, nothing!  Imagination

rules, I am convinced – I think!

 

What unknown forces, unseen ones,

past life personifications are there

incarnating the aura of my being?

Gone.  My mind playing tricks on itself

I agree; figments of self-fears coming

to the forefront – foolishness felt.

 

A look in the mirror to refresh, mouth

open as I stare at the form of a kiss on

cheek, made with dust, borne by the wind.

Silent Song 2019-013

Don’t ask me what this means, as I wrote this during a period of time whereas my mind was convoluted and in disarray. I do believe I understood it then as I wrote it, but now, I am grasping as to the why and what of then, and that is now.

Mindless melodies contorted with rhyme,

Playing parodies in the present time

Lingering lyrics float in the air,

Stating sentences of a care, a dare

Fractural fibers leap in sine

Creating chaos in the mind of mine

Wandering wisps of static substance

Forever lost, but not forgotten.

I  checked the forecast today and cannot believe, no, do not want to believe the 4-8 inches of snow predicted for this weekend.  Plans are changed, giving into the drudge of winter weather, looking forward to spring…….

Cotton balls cascading

down upon brown earth

Fluffy formed drifts

blanketing the quiet dale

 

Spiraling steeple throwing

out ringing sounds

Echoing every nook with peals

of each bell

 

Street lights sending out

rays of speckled light

Dazzling diamonds formed

six sided facets- shining

 

Winters wind dancing

its way midst the wildwood

Singing songs of harmonic

flow to those that hear

Past – Present – Future 2019-011

What is TIME?  It is {or are} periods of existence, that is all. We can waste it or try to save it (will not work) or just use it the best we can. A time machine has not yet been invented, so we cannot go forward or backward physically, but we can be thankful for  having lived it and hopefully it will be a continued life experience.

The past is done

And the future’s begun

Dwell not on yesterday

As life goes on, regardless

Of events of the past.

 

Today is tomorrow’s history

As yesterday’s is today and

Tomorrow is yesterday’s

Future as it is also today.

 

Think positive of the morrow

As the hopes of today are

Life rafts in a sea of despair

Nothing is so bad that can’t

Be changed in the future.

Real World 2019-010

We ALL like to watch the shows on NETFLEX, or cable TV where we are taken to a near or far away place to watch actors portray their heroes or villains. We are given time to get snacks, go to the bathroom, etc., during the commercials. It is all made up, and we are released to go back to reality again afterwards. Not so, for the real stories that take place across America and the world.   There is no pausing, no end, no release from the turmoil’s that are a daily life of living.  It   IS   the Real World

as they are in life

 

So much violence, death

and destruction, shown in

neat packages ending in the

the real stories that can’t

Ethics, Character, Integrity       2019-009

This title is NOT about the political arena that was foremost in people’s minds in November of 2016? It  could be about something or someone currently in the spotlight or not…. Or is it?

No, I refer to the overall lack of the 3 words in the subject title, by some people, that ignore them and instead have other agenda’s they desire and want and live by today.

When did we start to ignore or discount things or feelings of belief, faith, and that hard word, righteousness, which counteracts the title 3 words?  I ask, have we relegated our beliefs of decency and redrawn our standards of living to appease our desires to fit our lifestyles today?  I hope not!

Is it time to restructure our thinking to where we change ourselves to return to a life of where we can live with ourselves in a better way internally, involving ethics, character and having integrity?

Today, a law should not be made to fit the moment, but to last a goodly period of time, and to address the subject at hand.   We could, instead of rushing to appease, make them to be fair and decent, after discussion by all parties.  Bi-partisan agreements are good generally, but unfair dictates are not good for anyone.

The masses are sometimes led by the minority, which is fine, but the overall “good for all” is still a factor to be considered.  The minority are sometimes forgotten about in the scope of things but have to be included in the final outcome in some cases. A complex quandary at times, but one that needs to be addressed.

The character of people is challenged by events and situations at times, but those moral or mental qualities are most distinctive to the individual in almost ALL cases. It is what becomes our nature, our temperament, our distinctive makeup of who we are in life. Our essence of who we are comprises our character and it is usually for all to see and hard to hide from in life. We will be found out eventually, where our identity will be seen by all. The truth will prevail, always……

Therefore, our integrity is or could be at question.  The old saying of integrity has to be earned not given to one is still a factor today. If we are a continual liar in life, doing things that are not good, and our character becomes questionable, our integrity will suffer.

Being good at something, or at least getting credit for it, does NOT mean you would be a person involving the subjects three attributes.  Perhaps these words could be the judging words of those we have as leaders in this great country of the United States of America!!!!!!!!!!!

Spiritual vrs Religious  2019-008

 

I believe Spirituality is the merging of the Self with the Holy Spirit, but the definition is at best sketchy and hard to agree on by many.

Being Spiritual, is the process of becoming closer to God overall, and entails many practices or actions. I wrote about this at one time and stated. “Being of the spiritual mind, involves being driven by the Holy Spirit or being animated by God.”

Being Religious, to me, involves those things that pertain to a particular religion of the Christian faith, though it could pertain to other faith beliefs. It also requires one, to be involved in various practices that the religion requires or dictates.

As to being Spiritual or Religious, I claim to be involved in both. My journey of getting closer to God is mine to own and travel and others have their own to be involved in life. My involvement with Religion is personal and fulfilling with supporting a church that is involved in many service projects and allows me to worship in this House of God.

There are many other factors on both and much more I could add to this

Religion’s Problem  2019-007

The problem with religion is —- Religion itself!!

This is NOT about an individual religion, but the concept of every religion that make up the religious experiences.

So, what is religion?  It is the basic organized set of beliefs, rules, ceremonies, dictates, dogma, etc. used in worshiping God.

The belief in a god that people are involved in, is called by various names in different faiths and identifies the various groups of that faith. Each faith or groups within that faith have specific beliefs that identify each from any other.

The first Christian faith group was called “The Way” and to belong to this group identified the followers of Jesus Christ. Then came the Catholic religion, followed by very many more faith groups.

Today, there are over 9000 groups within Christianity, that have their religious take on how to act, based on their defined system of believing. That is why the problem within religion is – religion itself.

To belong to a specific group within Christianity automatically excludes all other religious groups of followers. The different rules that each have are specific to that group, which makes the others different automatically.

We then can follow one that includes those things we admire, like, and make us feel good. Or, it could be a religion has beliefs that we want to follow, and we could care less if any others want to believe in what we want to adhere to in life. This is a narrow minded, one sided thought process, as such.

Many use religions as a tool to have and make that religion seem like the only or best one out there. If others do not see our way they are wrong, and we remain right.   WRONG!  Just another example of the problem of religion.

BUT, to use religion in a good way, the correct way, is not only hard to do, it is hard to come up with what actually is good and correct, versus any other.  So, religion itself CAN be a good thing, if we can agree what is good. I would like to think that most religions are of a good nature, and to believe in that religion or denomination is fine and no problems exist with them.  

If a religion uses the Bible Scripture as a weapon to make an asinine point, I have a problem with that religion and the people that believe and support it.  I think they could rethink what they believe in and go back and consider what the man-God who became the Savior of mankind thought and taught.

Tired – I Quit 2019-006

TIRED – I QUIT 2019-006
I guess I am just plain tired of many things I do!!! At the moment, I am thinking of my comments on Facebook that I post, primarily. Any that have to do with Trump especially.
TRUMP
Many of the people that read my posts, especially certain ones, have the same opinion about him that I do, so I believe I am preaching to the choir. Any post about him are irreverent anyhow. Some people may disagree with what I say who, like him, but they also remain quiet to what I state.
RELIGION
Another issue is when I post a copy of a blog post on Facebook, especially about any topic regarding religion. Again, to many or some I am preaching to the choir and they feel the same way, perhaps, as I do. Anyone with faith problems, just may not want to hear what I post due to reason I will not state now. I realize this, but I usually posted beliefs that can actually be debated or discussed. Oh well…..
WORD COUNT
Another thing I now know is the fact that my posts are usually set at a total word count of 500-1000 words per post. Some people are conditioned to a power point and bullet point presentation in life with short, concise statements as something they want to take in time to read quickly. I don’t write that way and will NOT do so. What I have to say and post is not something I will or will not do as a twitter dictated word usage of just so many characters and words. That is just me as I am.
I do NOT get feedback from Facebook people, either good or bad about what I write. All, either ignore and do not read or could care less about the subject written, or just plain do not want to take the time to read in detail.
BLOG SITE
So, why bother writing?? I DO post what I write at my blog site, thebettsden.com and that is different. I get people from all over the world who read and sometimes “like” the postings. The total number of people to date following me is over a hundred… WOW!!!
I have posted over 450 posts of many categories and over 3000 views have been recorded to date in the 3-4 years of posts.
I QUIT
Therefore, I am NOT going to waste my time to copy too Facebook anymore. IT does take a procedural effort and I am wasting my time doing so. I could say that NO likes, NO comments, NO shares equal NO interest and I can and do accept that about my Facebook posts.
BUT
I am NOT leaving Facebook and will continue to “like” other posts, post comments about other “normal” things and on occasional, post a saying or picture with words that go with it.
This is NOT farewell, but instead a withdrawal of posting my opinion on certain things in life. So be it…..

Body and Soul 2019-005

Body and Soul       2019-005

What is the soul and where does it reside in us? I do not actually KNOW but have the following opinions. First, the body is a collector, a shell, a vehicle for the soul to inhabit and travel through life here on Earth. It has the elements needed to survive, to thrive, to exist as a means for the soul to travel in its journey from then, to now, to the next step of beyond.

We exist in form, which makes us unique from other type of entities. It, the body is vulnerable to life’s many trials and tribulations we put it through or what happens regardless of our desires.  We abuse, mistreat, overindulge, and otherwise, do not absolutely take good care of this container of the soul. Such is life.

It has a built-in life span of use until, other than accidents, it succumbs to the reality of the planned obsolescence that was dictated at birth of an eventually occurring death.

Again, what is the soul that inhabits the body? The soul is the essence of who and what we are as we live out life. It is the what we truly are and who we are in our existence of living.

The soul is the epitome of everything we are as a person that exists. When the body dies, and is committed to ashes or burial, the soul is what lives onward. The soul has no form, no facial recognition showing of its existence. It is there, it can be everywhere, it encompasses and surpasses normal earthly capabilities. Pretty unique itself.

It, the soul, leaves behind, the human frailties, has an absence of pain and suffering, if any, when it is released from the body to continue the journey of life beyond.

The soul joins the other souls now able to relate to each other’s bodily mind memories of before. Each knows of each other’s before form of living, and who and where we are and the time span of life. Ancestors know the newbee that just arrived, and the new one, knows each of the old ones that traveled before to where they are now.

There are requirements, expectations, duties and responsibilities and the like. For the joys of eternal life, there are costs to endure, but in comparison, these are minute in nature, nothing that cannot be accomplished.

Earthly man-made thoughts of how things were to be, are what they were at that time; opinions and not facts.  Nothing that the esteemed leaders could think of have any resemblance to reality of what is now, as the soul continues onward.

The newness of this soul’s life’s existence is beyond understanding and comprehensive thought to the human mind having a body before.  When the soul meets the maker, all will be known, all will be understood and accepted.

The vessel, like a train going across the land, a ship plowing through water, a plane flying in the air all have a destination. When done the vessels purpose is also accomplished, with the cargo, the soul, delivered for continued life and existence.

If we do not take care of the body/vessel, so be it, but should we not nourish the soul for its journey of eternity? Is it not practical to consider what the soul is, and what entity created it for us? Is not the God of the Universe, the one we could acknowledge, as the reason for our existence and opportunity to eternal life.
